Outgoing students

Why go on mobility abroad?

  • Have you ever wanted to live abroad and experience a foreign culture, meet new people and learn a foreign language?
  • Have you ever thought about enriching the period of your studies and having better chances while looking for a job in the future?
  • Have you ever been excited to share your ideas and to create good things with other students from all around the world?
  • Have you ever dreamed of doing an internship abroad, to learn cooperative work?
  • Have you ever heard that life won’t be the same after Erasmus?

Studying abroad is an amazing experience. It is unique from the personal as well as academic point of view. Spending a few months in an international environment is the best opportunity to grow your intercultural insights, learn other languages and make friends with people from other countries and cultures.

To sum it up: you will grow as a person. Ready for the Challenge?

Erasmus+

Although there are multiple opportunities to go abroad, most students take part in the Erasmus+ programme.

The Erasmus Programme is a European student exchange programme established in 1987, offering university students the possibility of studying or working abroad in another European country for a period of at least 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. The name of the project refers to Dutch Renaissance humanist and theologian Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam. He studied at diverse European universities and described education as a chance for modern people.

Since 2014, Erasmus and other programmes have been included under the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, Erasmus+.

Getting in touch with ESN

When leaving on exchange in Europe, there is a high chance you will get in touch with ESN. Your contact point of reference should be the ESN section at your destination. That is also where you will be able to get your ESNcard. Look up the 510+ sections over here! In case there is no local section at your host university, you can buy the ESNcard from another section in the destination’s city or country.

Returning after your mobility

If you are seeking to be a part of the international environment after returning to your home university, we would love to see you join one of our local sections as a volunteer. Reach out to the section closest to you and find out how you can support them. Soon enough you will be the one making your city a home for other students from around the world!
